Real Estate Law

Real estate law is the field in which private law and public law meet, covering together the acquisition, transfer, protection and termination of rights in real estate, the contracts relating to real estate and the administrative acts concerning it. Ownership and limited rights in rem fall within civil law, lease and sale contracts within the law of obligations, and zoning, expropriation and cadastral procedures within administrative law; for this reason, several interconnected proceedings may run before the land registry, the administration and the courts in respect of the same property.
