Lease Law

Lease law covers the relationship between lessor and lessee from the conclusion of the contract to its termination. Ordinary leases, leases of residential and roofed business premises, usufructuary leases and leases of movables constitute the subject of this field. Disputes concerning the drafting and review of lease contracts, provisions on security deposits and rent increases, the determination and adjustment of rent, the collection of unpaid rent, and service charges and ancillary costs arise in the course of this relationship.

Matters relating to termination include eviction for default; eviction actions based on need, reconstruction and renovation, the new owner’s need and an undertaking to vacate; and eviction through enforcement proceedings. For the lessee, defence against unjustified termination, the return of the security deposit and claims arising from defects in the leased property also fall within this field; party representation at the mediation stage of lease disputes is likewise included.
